Before a businessman or a homeowner finally decides to get into a contract with a Winter Haven parking lot paving company, there is one question that they need to answer: Am I making the right choice? Having your parking lots or your driveways paved with asphalt is no laughing matter. It’s an expensive and a risky investment with promises of return that no one can ever guarantee. After all, how can a mere company guarantee that the harsh weather conditions (harsher every year) will never be able to erode the kind of material they will use on the parking lot or driveway?
Though there are studies that can back their claim, none would be a better testament than time. And with time, you need money and resources, an assurance for the business owner or the homeowner that he/she is making the right choice in entrusting his/her money with a pavement company.
Here are some of the questions you need to ask your contractor first:
How much experience have you got?
Don’t settle for the narrative. Make sure to ask for “proof” that they have legitimate experience to handle the project you are entrusting to them. They have to show photos of past projects they have done. If you have the time and the energy, you should personally visit these sites to see what happened with their pavements.
What are the materials you are using?
Is it concrete or asphalt? Are they more experienced with cement or asphalt? Aside from that, what are the binders that they are using? There are so many materials included in constructing a pavement or driveway. It’s not enough for you to choose between concrete or asphalt. You have to make sure, too, that the contractor is using Class A materials overall.
What kind of equipment are you using?
You want your contractor to use state-of-the-art technology in making your pavement. You are paying for their experience and expertise, anyway, why won’t you demand for the best in the market? There are still some contractors who prefer to install the pavement manually. Try not to settle for this even if this comes cheaper than using heavy equipment and machinery.
How much does it cost?
The most important question is probably not the most vital for your pavement. If you have ensured that the company will use high-grade materials and the latest technology, you can be sure, too, that the price will go way higher than the ordinary contractors. You have to prepare your company and your household for such expenses.
